The NIMHD Director’s Seminar is a series of lectures highlighting prominent researchers who are advancing the science of minority health and health disparities. Dr. O. Kenrik Duru, professor of medicine at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA will explore the topic, Disparities in Diabetes Screening and Prevention by Race and Ethnicity. Dr. Duru's research interests include enhancing physical activity among older adults from racial and ethnic minority groups and designing interventions to reduce disparities in medication adherence and clinical outcomes among patients with diabetes. He also has a strong career/research focus on diabetes care and prevention and working with populations experiencing health disparities.
HRSA’s HIV/AIDS Bureau will highlight National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day and highlight two Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program recipients supporting Black communities during our monthly update webinar.
