HHS Awards Grant to Establish the National Resource Center for HIV/AIDS Prevention Among Adolescents

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Adolescent Health (OAH) today announced that the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) was awarded $200,000 for a three-year cooperative agreement to implement and operate the National Resource Center (“Center”) for HIV/AIDS Prevention among Adolescents. The Center will focus on improving the health and well-being of adolescents at risk of HIV and those living with AIDS.

Specifically, the Center will support adolescent service providers (i.e., organizations that works with teens or an individual, such as a community health education specialist or a clinician) with web-based resources, evidence-based research, and training and technical assistance to promote HIV/AIDS prevention among adolescents, in particular adolescents from minority and high-risk populations.
