Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands
Project Overview: The goal of the Stronger Together program is to assist organizations in implementing sexual health education to adolescents at high risk for unintended pregnancy; to increase organizational capacity to provide evidence-based sex education; and to reduce unintended teen pregnancy and improve health outcomes in areas of demonstrated need. In order to achieve this goal, Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands works with youth-serving community partner organizations to build capacity. Training Specialists and Managers work directly with partner organization staff to provide training, skill building, and planning and program development assistance. Project staff provide observation and coaching to partner staff delivering evidence-based programs and work directly on sustainability efforts to assist partner organization in building long term capacity to engage in teen pregnancy prevention work.
Target Population: Vulnerable youth, including youth in foster care and homeless youth in Oregon and Washington
Geographic Area Served (Urbanicity of Community): Three initial communities: Medford, OR; Grants Pass, OR; Tacoma, WA (Urban and suburban)
