Multnomah County Health Department
Project Overview: Multnomah County Health Department (MCHD) Adolescents and Communities Together (ACT) project intends to reduce disparities in sexual health among our young people and improve all youth’s ability to thrive, succeed educationally, maintain sexual and reproductive health, and be in healthy relationships. In order to achieve this goal, over the next five years schools in participating districts will support the implementation of classroom-based curricula in middle schools (6th, 7th, and/or 8th grades) and high school health classes in priority neighborhoods. Community partners will also reach youth and parents using culturally-relevant evidence-based programming along with other locally-identified youth development activities. This project will serve more than 12,000 young people annually.
