Program Summary

Project Overview: The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma intends to have a significant impact on reducing rates of teen pregnancy and existing disparities by replicating evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs in middle schools, high schools, and alternative schools in Choctaw, McCurtain, and Pushmataha counties, three counties in Southeast Oklahoma with some of the highest teen pregnancy rates.

Target Population: Native American youth

Geographic Area Served (Urbanicity of Community): 3 counties in Oklahoma: Choctaw, McCurtain, and Pushmataha (Rural)

Teen Birth Rate in Area Served (Per 1,000): 61 (Choctaw); 77 (McCurtain), 78 (Pushmataha)
