The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH), in collaboration with the Rhode Island Office of the Post-Secondary Commissioner, Rhode Island Department of Human Services, Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General, West Elmwood Housing Development Corporation, and a collaborative of secondary and post-secondary institutions and community organizations, will implement the Dunamis Synergy Initiative. The initative aims to improve educational, health, and social outcomes for expectant and parenting teens and students ages 15 to 25. The initative will serve Central Falls, Pawtucket, Providence, and Woonsocket. Dunamis Synergy will provide services in community, high school, and higher education settings. Dunamis Synergy will help expectant and parenting teenagers and students access and persist in secondary and post-secondary educational settings. Dunamis Synergy will also cooridinate comprehensive two-generation focused services and additional wrap-around supports. As part of the initiative, RIDOH will work with the Office of the Attorney General, Sojourner House, and the Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center to provide enhanced intervention, advocacy, and support services to pregnant women who are victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
