Project Description

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health (DHHS-DPH) will implement the Nebraska Expectant and Parenting Grant (NEPG) project in partnership with the Nebraska DHHS - Division of Children and Family Services and Nebraska Children and Families Foundation (NC). The NEPG will serve parenting young people ages 14 to 25 whose lives are affected by involvement in foster care, juvenile justice, homelessness, or sexual exploitation. Using a framework that promotes holistic wellbeing, the NEPG aims to build personal skills, parenting skills, and resilience by aligning and developing dual-generation community services to increase protective factors for individuals and families. NEPG will be implemented in urban, suburban, and rural communities including: North Platte/Lincoln County; Norfolk area/Counties of Boone, Madison, Pierce, Stanton and Wayne; Omaha/Douglas County; Lincoln/Lancaster County; and Sarpy County.
