National Turkey Federation (NTF), Washington, DC; Designated Representative: Alice L. Johnson, DVM
NTF is the only national trade association representing the turkey industry, exclusively. They represent nearly 100 percent of the United States turkey industry, including processors, growers, breeders, hatchery owners, and allied industry. The NTF has nominated Dr. Alice L. Johnson to serve as their designated representative.
Dr. Johnson serves as Vice President Food Safety, Corporate Quality and Animal Care and Well Being for Butterball, LLC, the largest US turkey integrator. Dr. Johnson’s role encompasses multiple responsibilities, including the development, implementation and oversight of food safety, food quality and animal wellbeing. She has worked alongside federal and state regulatory agencies to implement and manage government regulations within the company. Before her work with Butterball, Dr. Johnson served as president and CEO of the National Turkey Federation. She has also held multiple leadership positions with organizations like National Food Processors Association and the American Meat Institute.
Dr. Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Pfeiffer College and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University.
