Statement from Secretary Xavier Becerra on New Data Showing Continued Low Uninsurance Rate
Today, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra released the following statement about newly released data showing that the historic decline in the number of uninsured Americans on this Administration’s watch is holding steady:
“More people have health insurance coverage than ever before - and the peace of mind that comes with it. That is all thanks to the Affordable Care Act’s expansion of Medicaid and creation of the Marketplace. Along with Social Security, and Medicare, the ACA is one of the most consequential social investments in the history of our nation. The Biden-Harris Administration has worked tirelessly to ensure quality, affordable health care for everyone. Now Congress must do its job and make sure ACA tax credits in the American Rescue Plan for working families stay in place. Every single American can go to the doctor and get the care they need without breaking the bank.”
