Christine M. Major currently serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Human Resources and Chief Human Capital Officer in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Ms. Major was also designated as the Senior Accountable Official for the 2016 HHS implementation of the SES Reform Executive Order
Major has over 25 years of experience in the Human Resource field at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and HHS. Prior to her current role, Christine served as the HHS Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Administration and as the Director of Human Resources for the National Institutes of Health. Ms. Major directed the activities of five separate divisions and over 300 staff members, comprising the full range of Human Resource functions including recruitment, HR Systems, employee/labor relations, benefits, policy and training and development.
Ms. Major holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Maryland.
