Is there a fee to register a domain name?

The HHS CIO currently pays for most HHS-owned .GOV and .US domains. However, according to the HHS Domain Name Policy, the HHS CIO may request payment for registration of .GOV domain names from the sponsoring OPDIV. GSA is currently billing HHS $125 per year for each .GOV domain name.

HHS organizations that own domains in other top-level domain registries are responsible for the registration fees, which vary by registrar.
