HHS restricts the use of formal head shots or portrait photographs:
- The Secretary and Deputy Secretary may post photos on their office Web pages.
- HHS leaders—Agency, OpDiv, and StaffDiv heads—may post portrait photographs on their biography pages.
All others are constrained from posting portrait photographs on HHS Web sites.
HHS limits the use of formal head shots or portraits on Web pages. The Secretary and Deputy Secretary may display portrait photographs on their office pages. HHS leaders, e.g., Assistant Secretaries, the Surgeon General, General Counsel, etc., may display portrait photographs on their biography pages. These portrait photographs may be no larger than 165 x 225 pixels.
Event or activity photographs of a Departmental official or employee engaged in an activity, especially with other people, are exempt. Podium shots should be used with discretion. Such shots should not be posted permanently except in a photo archive or gallery.
