A “Value Exchange” is a multi-stakeholder organization that has taken clear action in its community to convene industry stakeholders and advance the four cornerstones of Value-Driven Health Care. 

Chartered Value Exchanges will be identified and selected by HHS.  It is anticipated that a call for interested “Community Leader” organizations to apply to become Chartered Value Exchanges will be posted twice a year.  Interested applicants will submit a written narrative detailing their capacity, or plans to develop the capacity, to fulfill a number of required criteria.  These include:

Chartered Value Exchanges will be eligible to participate in a nation-wide Learning Network that will be sponsored and maintained by HHS’s Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).  The Learning Network will provide access to expert faculty, lessons about successful quality improvement, and consumer reporting. In addition, tools available will help with relationship management, and coalition building.  Consultations will occur via in-person meetings, conference calls, and web-based communication and all materials will be web-based.
