HHS Travel Charge Card Training
A new required Government-Issued Travel Charge Card training is available through the HHS Learning Portal. This HHS-specific training replaces the GSA Travel Charge Card course as an HHS requirement and, per Public Law 112-194 and Office of Management and Budget requirements, is mandatory for all new and existing cardholders.
Please note that all Agency/Organization Program Coordinators (A/OPCs) and cardholders must complete the new course by January 31, 2013.
Those who have already completed the GSA course must also complete the HHS course. Beginning in February 2013, reports will be generated to verify compliance. Cardholders who are not in compliance will risk suspension of the card until the training is complete. Frequent travelers are required to use the Travel Charge Card when booking travel, so cardholders should be sure to complete the training on time. A/OPCs who are not in compliance will risk losing their role as an A/OPC until the training is complete.

About the Course
The 30-minute course will give cardholders and A/OPCs a better understanding of HHS-specific policies and procedures for the Travel Charge Card and will help cardholders and organizations maximize the benefits of the Travel Charge Card program. As stated in OMB Circular A-123 Appendix B, all cardholders are required to complete training prior to receiving a card and every three (3) years thereafter, and A/OPCs are required to complete the training every year. Supervisors of cardholders are also strongly encouraged to complete the training.
This is an interactive training that provides learners an opportunity to click on various objects to reveal important content. Please click on each item in order to proceed through the course.
This training covers HHS travel card policy. Please check with your Travel Card Lead to ensure that you fulfill any OPDIV/STAFFDIV-specific cardholder requirements.

GovTrip Travel Preparer
The HHS Travel Office offers a one day GovTrip training available through distance learning. This course is specifically tailored to the needs of the HHS Traveler and Travel Preparer and is designed to give you the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively use GovTrip.
This course provides the HHS Traveler or Travel Preparer with the necessary skills to successful create travel documents. It also introduces the learner to the HHS Travel Policy and the tools and resources available for booking travel.
Upon successful completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Understand and apply the HHS Travel Policy.
- Understand the process flow of GovTrip.
- Create accurate Authorizations that comply with the travel policy and budgets.
- Create accurate and timely Vouchers for reimbursement.
- Cancel/edit/amend an Authorization.
