National Influenza Vaccination Week
December 9, 2013
As we observe National Influenza Vaccination Week, I want to remind all Americans that getting your flu vaccine is your best defense against seasonal flu. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone 6 months of age and older get a flu vaccine every year. If you have not yet gotten your flu vaccine this season, it’s not too late. To find a flu vaccine location near you visit Flu.gov.
Getting vaccinated against the flu can reduce flu illnesses, doctors' visits, missed work due to flu and also prevent flu-related hospitalizations and deaths. It is a simple but important step you can take to protect your health and keep your loved ones safe. Visit Flu.gov for more helpful information on flu prevention and vaccination, at-risk groups and flu symptoms and treatment.
