Slideshow: Secretary Sebelius at the United We Serve Event in Takoma Park, MD

Secretary Sebelius engaged children in story-telling during a Reach Out and Read event. The event was held at Takoma Park Pediatrics as a part of President Obama’s United We Serve initiative.

On Tuesday, June 23, 2009 Secretary Sebelius visited Takoma Park Pediatrics in Maryland, where she read to a group of 3 to 6 year-old children
The event was sponsored by Reach Out and Read – a nation-wide program aimed at increasing literacy for children ages 6 months to 6 years, by providing free books to medical providers and patients.

Before leaving, Secretary Sebelius passed out books for the children to take home and read.
