Seven-year-old Hayley Kudro was featured in a National Cancer Institute (NCI) video last year on how Recovery Act funds are accelerating research to develop better treatment strategies for children with cancer. NCI-supported scientists worked hard to keep Hayley’s Neuroblastoma in remission through genetic targeting. Hayley’s brave fight against Neuroblastoma came to an end on Dec. 27, 2011.
By participating in the NCI TARGET study, Hayley and her parents made a significant contribution toward new knowledge about how to treat and perhaps one day cure Neuroblastoma. See the epilogue to her story above and read more about how Recovery Act dollars are funding scientific research to develop better treatments for children with Neuroblastoma and other cancer.
