Major Actions Taken to Date - Cumulative disbursements for ARRA Medicaid FMAP funding total $11.3 billion, through Friday.
- On Wednesday, April 1, HHS Administration on Aging (AoA) obligated $3M for Title VI Native American Tribes Nutrition Program.
- On Wednesday, April 1, HHS issued $8.6B in preliminary Medicaid third quarter FY 2009 ARRA FMAP grant awards.
- On Thursday, April 2, HHS announced availability of $2.1 billion for Head Start and Early Head Start.
- On Friday, April 3, HHS announced availability of up to $5 billion for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program through ARRA's new Section 2101 Emergency Contingency fund. Also announced implementation of Section 2101 modifications to the caseload reduction credit; Section 2102 continuation of a supplemental grant program that provides funds to 17 States; and Section 2103 technical corrections to provide States with more flexibility in using prior year TANF fund balance.
- OMB completed review of several HHS spending plans, and once necessary documents are prepared, funds will be released or funding opportunities will be made public.
Major Actions Planned - We continue to review spending plans and could announce and/or begin releasing funds for additional ARRA programs.
