Next Major Milestone: |
MAR 2010 - Submit to OMB a detailed PACS/LACS Implementation Plan with milestone dates outlined and aligned with ICAM Roadmap schedules where possible. |
Date to complete issuance of PIV credentials to all Employees and Contractors: July 2010
Date to complete adjudication or verification of background investigations for all Employees and Contractors: September 2011
Date to complete integration of PIV credentials with logical access systems: October 2011
Date to complete integration of PIV credentials with physical access systems: October 2011
Date to begin issuing PIV credentials to all new employees and contractors as part of the boarding process: November 2007
December 2008: HHS headquarters region successfully integrated their PACS with the IDMS. The IDMS automatically updates the PACS with facial images captured during enrollments as well as real-time updates of certificate revocations and suspensions so physical and logical access rights are instantly revoked simultaneously in both systems.
March 2009: The HHS access management/single-sign-on system became operation. Now users may gain access to two HR applications using the same credential providing single sign on. Users can also use their PIV card to authenticate to the access management system and specifically to the two HR applications.
June 2009: HHS is in the process of restructuring the management and organization supporting HSPD-12 to be staffed with volunteers from each Operating Division to foster full cooperation amongst the OPDIVS as well as between the physical and logical access and identity management groups.
September 2009: NIH began using the service-based interfaces to the IDMS to conduct enrollment operations. With that implementation, NIH additionally proved the viability of local printing. The HHSIdentity and HSPD-12 programs were consolidated into an overarching program called IAM@HHS. The program is comprised of OPDIV representation working with the Department to re-baseline the program and create a long-term road map for implementation. HHS also reached the 50,000 mark for card enrollments; approximately half of the population has been enrolled for a PIV Card.
