Welcome

Congratulations on your new Adolescent Family Life (AFL) Care demonstration grant!

This self-directed orientation module will introduce you to the critical components that must be put into place when setting up your demonstration projects. The module is intended to provide you with a “big picture” understanding of the Office of Adolescent Pregnancy Programs (OAPP) and how your demonstration project supports OAPP’s mission to develop, implement, and evaluate program interventions to provide comprehensive health care, education, and social services to pregnant and parenting adolescents. The module has been divided into two sections:

  1. Office of Adolescent Pregnancy Programs (OAPP) Basics and Program Set Up
  2. Evaluation

The module contains essential OAPP policies and other resources for you to review. The 2010 AFL Care Grantee Orientation Manual complements the information within this module.

Objectives for the Module

By participating in the module, you will be able to:

  1. Describe the functions, practices, and procedures of the OAPP and the AFL demonstration project.
  2. Identify the six critical steps in program set up for your AFL demonstration project.
  3. Understand the four necessary aspects of setting up and planning a solid program evaluation.
  4. Use the AFL timeline to track and monitor progress for completing the necessary components of your AFL grant.
