Self-directed Trainings
Welcome to the Office of Adolescent Pregnancy Programs (OAPP), Adolescent Family Life (AFL) self-directed module main page! OAPP has developed a series of online self-directed modules to support the professional development of AFL grantee staff. These modules are in a user-friendly online format. You may stop and start them at any time and log-in from wherever an internet connection is available. The modules are designed to provide equal training opportunities for all AFL grantee staff on important topics. Self-directed modules that are available include: - Introduction to Adolescent Family Life (Title XX) of the Public Health Service Act
- Evaluation Basics (continuing education units available)
- Overview of Adolescent Trauma (continuing education units available)
- Sustainability and Collaboration (continuing education units available)
- Intimate Partner Violence (continuing education units available)
- Adolescent Brain Development (continuing education units available)
Getting started To begin, select the module you would like to take by clicking on its title located in the navigation bar on the left side of the screen. The training course will begin at that point. Course credit Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are optional and available for only some of the self-directed modules. To request continuing education units, you must complete the module post-test and evaluation survey at the end of the module. Once complete, you will be e-mailed your CEU certificate. Please note: any contact information you include in your CEU credit request will not be linked to the evaluation. It is confidential and solely for the purposes of sending continuing education certificates. Important!!! Whether or not you are requesting CEU credit, OAPP asks that all participants of the self-directed modules complete the evaluation survey at the end of each course. Your answers to each survey will help OAPP and JSI assess the effectiveness of the modules in meeting your professional development needs.
