March 30, 2007 - Charge for the Panel on Investigator Responsibilities/Certification issues

Should new or expanded guidance or even regulations be considered to incorporate the issues that have emerged that address investigator responsibilities and training? There are diverse viewpoints on this subject, and the panel will discuss this issue including commitments, such as conducting research according to sound design and applicable laws and regulations; training in research techniques and in ethical principles, including responsible conduct of research; requirements for maintaining documents permitting the evaluation of assembled data and investigator certification.
