Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP)EducationPublicity Notice - New YorkThe Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) located within the Office of Public Health Service at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is continuing to sponsor a series of Research Community Forums regarding Human Subjects Protections in biomedical and behavioral research. These education events are co sponsored with academic institutions that have an approved Federalwide Assurance as well as other federal departments and agencies that regulate human subjects research. These education events are designed to: 1) provide regulatory interpretation of the DHHS regulations on Protection of Human Subjects codified at 45 CFR 46; 2) examine the special protections for including vulnerable population groups in research such as pregnant women, children, and prisoners; 3) address the responsibilities of those involved in human subjects research; and, 4) discuss the application of the ethical principles and guidelines for the protection of human subjects of research. The target audience includes institutional officials, institutional administrators, researchers, research staff, research coordinators, legal counsel, public health officials, privacy officers, compliance officers, patient advocates, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) members, administrators, coordinators, and staff. The purpose of this notice is to announce a new OHRP workshop scheduled for this Fall:
