TELEPHONE CALLS FOR PERSONAL REASONS WHILE IN TRAVEL STATUS - CONUS
Effective Date: Travel on or after January
1, 2001
It is
Office of the Secretary policy per Article 55 of the General Agreement with
NTEU, effective October 1998, that:
"An employee traveling overnight within CONUS may be reimbursed for one brief telephone call per day to her/his residence in accordance with government-wide and HHS travel rules and regulations."
Therefore, there is only a one-night minimum requirement
for reimbursement (Note: this is different from the two-night requirement
in the HHS Travel Manual).
All of the other provisions of the HHS Travel Manual policy pertain.
