On September 4, 2005, Secretary Mike Leavitt, Surgeon General Richard Carmona, and Medical Director, Dr. Chris Trevino outside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on the LSU Campus in Baton Rouge. This facility housed the 250-bed acute care shelter staffed by US Public Health Service Officers.
