Americans are gaining weight, and the gains raise their risks of diabetes and high blood pressure, as well as other conditions. And, while some states have the problem worse than others, no state escapes. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention summarized the state data in its Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. The CDC’s Dianna Densmore: "When comparing data from 1995, 2000 and 2005, the number of obese individuals had increased significantly in each state."
