Babies and salmonella

Dr. Frederick Angulo of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says children’s risk of salmonella infection was higher if they touched reptiles or rode in a shopping cart that had passed by meat and poultry.

"Children that were infected with salmonella were more likely to have handled reptiles and to also have ridden in a shopping cart near meat or poultry." (nine seconds)
