Solve the Outbreak
From the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, I’m Nicholas Garlow with HHS HealthBeat.
Become a disease detective. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s new iPad app, “Solve the Outbreak,” let’s you do just that. Users must figure out what disease they are dealing with and how an outbreak started. First, a user is given clues. How many people are sick? How quickly is it spreading? What are the symptoms?
Sharon McAleer is at the CDC.
“At the end of each clue, there’s a multiple choice question they need to answer correctly in order to get enough points to earn a new badge, going from novice, to apprentice, and eventually up to disease detective.”
Along the way, you’ll become a disease expert on the front lines as you investigate new outbreaks. You’ll also learn health tips and definitions, too.
You can find the free app on CDC’s website.
