U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
National Office on Women’s Health (OWH) Meeting on Opioid Use, Abuse, and Overdose in Women

In response to the increasing impact of the opioid crisis on women, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office on Women’s Health (OWH) is convening a national conversation (#OWHOpioidSummit) to examine the unique prevention, treatment, and recovery issues for women who use, abuse, or overdose on opioids. This meeting will build upon the Secretary’s opioid initiative, examining the unique and specific needs of women in the context of that epidemic.

OWH brings together policy experts, program staff, researchers, clinicians, and women with lived experience to foster a national conversation on best policies and practices to address these growing challenges. The meeting will provide opportunities to share best practices and support the development of evidence-based policies. Use #OWHOpioidSummit to discuss the meeting on Twitter with @womenshealth.
