State Alliance for e-Health to Hold Inaugural Meeting

Governors, Attorneys General, Legislators, Insurance Commissioners and other experts to Address State-level Health Information Technology Issues

What:

Inaugural meeting of the State Alliance, a state-led effort to develop real-world solutions and model practices for addressing state-level barriers to widespread adoption of health information technology and challenges to interoperable health information exchange.

Created last October under a contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology, the State Alliance will work to improve the nation’s health care system through the effective and efficient use of health information technology. Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen and Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas are serving as co-chairs. Additional appointees to the 20-member State Alliance will be introduced on January 26.
