Description

OCS will award funds to help build the capacity of faith-based and community organizations that address the needs of distressed communities.

Eligible Entity(ies)

  • Indian/Native American Tribal governments (Federally recognized),
  • Indian/Native American Tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized),
  • Non-profits with 501(c)(3) IRS status  (other than institutions of higher education),
  • Non-profits without 501(c)(3) IRS status (other than institutions of higher education),
  • Consortia of Native American Tribal governments  (Federally recognized),
  • Alaska Native Villages as defined in the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act and Consortia of such Villages,
  • Non-profit Alaska Native regional associations/ organizations and other non-profit Alaska Native organizations, with Village-specific projects,
  • Incorporated Indian Tribes (State-recognized) and consortia of such Tribes,  
  • Incorporated national and regional non-profit Native American organizations, with Native American community-specific projects,
  • Incorporated non-profit, multi-purpose community-based American Indian, Alaska Native and Tribal organizations, Urban Indian centers, and  
  • Non-profit private agencies serving Native Hawaiians
