Assessing the Needs of Ovarian Cancer Caregivers (Ovarian)

Program Title

Assessing the Needs of Ovarian Cancer Caregivers (Ovarian)

Agency/Sub-Agency

CDC\CCHP\NCCDPHP\DCPC\OD

Description

The purpose of this project is to better understand the needs of the caregivers of ovarian cancer patients.   This includes a clarification of the needs of caregivers by phases of cancer survivorship, i.e., diagnosis/treatment, long term survival, end of life, and bereavement.  This project would use formative research methodology to identify important but unmet caregiver needs, paying close attention to those that may be addressed and met through future interventions.  The findings of this formative research would lead to more in depth research on specific ways to improve the quality of life of caregivers of ovarian cancer patients, as well as caregivers of patients with other cancers or diseases.
