The mission of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is to improve the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care for all Americans. AHRQ achieves this mission by supporting a broad program of health services research, as well as working with partners to promote improvements in clinical and health systems practices, including the prevention of diseases and other health conditions. AHRQ-supported research programs are intended to (1) improve clinical practice, (2) improve the health care system's ability to provide access to and deliver high quality, high-value health care, and (3) provide policymakers with the ability to assess the impact of system changes on outcomes, quality, access to, cost, and use of health care services. To assist AHRQ in fully achieving its’ mission, these projects will support adaptation and implementation of research products, tools, and interventions that are ready to be used and actionable. AHRQ will support projects that build upon or expand ongoing health services research to demonstrate the impact of products, tools, and interventions. For example, such efforts may include, but are not limited to (1) implementing evidence-based tools and interventions, (2) developing and evaluation communication tools for new audiences, and (3) implementing interventions in diverse settings. |
