Community DevelopmentHHS Community Development category grants provide assistance to states and local communities to plan and develop a broad range of activities to improve the health and well-being of their communities. Examples of funded activities are to: - reduce poverty and empower low-income families and individuals to become self-sufficient;
- support operation of rural health research centers and analysis of full range of rural health services issues;
- provide technical assistance and services for research on healthcare costs, quality and outcomes;
- ensure community health care delivery;
- support the independence, productivity, and integration and inclusion into the community of individuals with developmental disabilities; and
- support community-based programs for women's health.
