Meeting

The National Biodefense Science Board (NBSB) held a public meeting on November 18-19, 2008 at the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, VA. During this meeting the NBSB considered a report prepared by the Disaster Mental Health Subcommittee on protecting, preserving, and restoring individual and community mental health in catastrophic health event settings, including pre-event, intra-event, and post-event education, messaging, and interventions.

Additionally the NBSB discussed matters related to Section 202, Telehealth Enhancements for Emergency Response, of the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act (P.L. 109-417) concerning the use of telehealth in public health emergencies and medical disasters; received an update and discussed the development of the National Health Security Strategy; and discussed past years activities by the Working Group on USG Medical Countermeasure R&D Processes for CBRN Agents.
