Leslie Dach serves as a Senior Counselor at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where he works with the HHS senior leadership team on key policy challenges and strategic initiatives, as well on strengthening the Department's relationships and engagement with external partners and to help ensure the success of the second Open Enrollment period for the Health Insurance Marketplace.

Leslie comes to the Department with more than 25 years of business, policy, communications, and executive management experience.

From 2006 to 2013, Leslie served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Walmart Stores Inc. where he was a member of the company's executive council and executive finance committees and responsible for a wide portfolio including public policy, government relations, corporate communications, philanthropy, and the company's social responsibility and sustainability initiatives.

While at Walmart, Dach also led a series of major social, health, and sustainability initiatives, including partnering with First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move campaign to make healthy food affordable and available in communities across the country, and launching a $2 billion initiative to help end hunger. Under Leslie's leadership, Walmart became the largest commercial on-site generator of renewable energy in the United States. His efforts at Walmart have been widely credited with developing a new model of public, private, and civil society partnerships that deliver meaningful impact.

Before joining Walmart, Leslie served as Vice Chairman of Edelman, a major global communications firm. He has also served on the boards of the Environmental Defense Fund, the United Negro College Fund, and the World Resources Institute, and as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Yale University Council.

He holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Yale University and a master's in public administration from Harvard University.
