Dr. John Agwunobi, former Florida Secretary of Health, was confirmed by the United States Senate as Assistant Secretary of Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, on Saturday, December 17, 2005. The Senate also confirmed Dr. Agwunobi's appointment as a Medical Director in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service.
